Material selection and quality
The quality of our textile products starts with the materials. We value high-quality, regional and European virgin wool. The rugs are manufactured regionally and reflect local value creation and the beauty of the natural resources in our surroundings.
The back of the rug is made of high-quality wool felt, which provides additional stability and durability. Through the careful selection and processing of materials, every textile product becomes a high-quality and long-lasting favorite piece.
Sheep wool and networks
Sheep's wool is a wonderful natural product that has many positive properties. It is warming, breathable, moisture-regulating, self-cleaning, antibacterial, biodegradable, recyclable and much more. We source raw wool from local sheep farms such as Anderlbauer in Frasdorf. We spin this wool ourselves and then twist it. The natural white yarns from European sheep farms (from France and Spain) are hand-dyed with natural dyes. The sheep farms share our values and pay attention to the welfare of the animals.
Sheep are important parts of our culture and agriculture and are indispensable for landscape management - especially in areas that are difficult to access, they achieve achievements that are difficult or difficult to achieve with machines and human hands.
Good colors
All dyed yarns are hand-dyed with natural dyes. The fastness properties of the dyed yarns are good. As humanity, we can draw on thousands of years of dyeing experience with natural dyes. Fabrics dyed with madder root can be traced back to the Eighteenth Dynasty of Pharaonic Egypt (1552 - 1306 BC). Compared to acid dyes, we only have around 160 years of experience here. Most synthetic dyes are based on petroleum or are byproducts of coal mining. Their uncomplicated handling makes them very attractive for fast fashion and fast interiors, without taking into account the devastating effects on people and nature.
We take a different approach with our products: by coloring with natural dyes, we revive old knowledge and develop it further - for aesthetically and ecologically compatible interiors.
